Law is my passion. The law protects us. However, while the letter of the law is always my guiding factor in legal matters, I believe that as an attorney it is my responsibility to resolve matters creatively and use the law to my clients’ advantage. After all, the things we hold most important are at stake in every decision we make--our families, relationships, livelihoods, and futures.
With a diverse legal background to accomplish these goals, I’ve provided effective professional counsel in business, entertainment, family, and immigration matters, among others, for over two decades.
Outside of my law practice,e I have had the honor and joy of sitting on the bench of several television courtroom programs dating back to 1999. I am also the author of “Living By Los Dichos” (Simon & Schuster); “It’s All About the Woman Who Wears It: Ten Laws for Being Smart, Successful and Sexy Too” (Penguin); "Red, White and Latina: Our American Identity" (Morgan James).
I draw from my background, as the daughter of Colombian immigrants, growing up amongst American peers and watching my parents struggle with racism as they adapted to U.S. culture. I bring the perspective I gained from growing up with this dual cultural vantage point to speaking topics including cultural diversity, careers, relationships, youth empowerment topics, and more. Through it all, I am a champion of celebrating the strong unique identities as individuals, and an even stronger, unified American identity as a nation."
