Mark A. Lemley is an American legal scholar and practising lawyer widely recognised for shaping modern intellectual property law in the United States. He is the William H. Neukom Professor of Law at Stanford Law School and Director of Stanford’s Program in Law, Science & Technology. Background

He earned his BA from Stanford University and his JD from UC Berkeley School of Law, graduating first in his class and being elected to Order of the Coif. After law school, he clerked for Judge Dorothy Wright Nelson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Before joining Stanford in 2004, he taught at the University of Texas School of Law and UC Berkeley School of Law.
