About María
Experience and empathy — my way of understanding my profession.
From personal experience, María Crespo knows that divorce is one of the most difficult transitions in life. After going through her own divorce, she founded Crespo Law, Family Lawyers to help others navigate theirs with empathy, understanding, and a focus on emotional as well as legal resolution.
With over 22 years of experience, María has become one of Spain’s most respected family law practitioners, specialising in complex international divorces, child custody, inheritance disputes, and family mediation. Her personal approach and commitment to her clients ensure that every case is handled with both professional precision and genuine care.
Why She’s Different
María believes that “family law must be practised with heart as well as intellect.” Drawing from her own life experience, she brings empathy, clarity, and a human touch to every case. Her goal is to achieve the most favourable outcomes for her clients while minimising the emotional impact on children and families — whether in national or international divorce proceedings.
Her expertise spans both family and inheritance law, offering guidance not only through separation but also through the complex legal and tax issues that accompany loss and succession. María’s work has been recognised nationally with the Medal of Professional Merit (2020) from the Spanish School of Mediation for her contributions to family mediation and the culture of peace.
