Ian O’Flaherty is the Founder and CEO of LIT SOFTWARE, Founder and President of Saurian Litigation Support, and also served as Honorary Consul of Ireland. As CEO of LIT SOFTWARE, Mr. O’Flaherty designs and oversees the development and support of the market-leading legal-specific apps TrialPad, TranscriptPad, DocReviewPad, TimelinePad, and ExhibitsPad. LIT SOFTWARE’s apps are used extensively by small and medium-sized law firms, large Am Law 100 firms, corporate counsel for Fortune 500 companies, insurance companies, prosecutors, public defenders, the United States Department of Justice, and other government agencies. The apps have been featured by Apple, and are part of the curriculum at many of the leading law schools in the United States.
Mr. O’Flaherty’s expertise in the legal sector was developed as President of Saurian Litigation Support. Through Saurian, Mr. O’Flaherty worked on high-profile legal matters in the United States and Europe, integrating technology with the legal argument, and developing ways to convey critical information to the trier of fact in a visually effective manner. His experience includes varied areas of litigation including, class action lawsuits, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, construction litigation, professional malpractice, medical negligence, product liability, family law, personal injury, and criminal cases.
Mr. O’Flaherty has authored numerous articles, and regularly presents to professional groups and bar associations on the use of technology in litigation. For his contributions to legal software, Mr. O’Flaherty was named a Fastcase 50 honoree which recognizes the smartest, most courageous, innovators, techies, visionaries, and leaders in the law.
Mr. O’Flaherty has served as a member of The Florida Bar Grievance Committee and The Florida Bar Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee. Mr. O’Flaherty was appointed Honorary Consul of Ireland by the Government of Ireland, and confirmed by the United States Department of State, to provide consular services and assistance to Irish citizens, and to assist with trade and economic relations between Ireland and the United States.
