“Resting on one’s laurels has never been my modus operandi. I’ve been blessed with a wealth of challenging roles both pre- and post-legal education that have allowed me to build a skill set traversing the full range of activities that a global holding company, consulting company, sovereign wealth fund, or law firm might confront. Look! I don’t just provide redline overload, I seek to understand the commercial aspects and bring the deal to fruition, not kill the deal! Early on in my legal career, I was deemed as too unconventional, over the years, that’s become my strong suit and has provided me and the companies I have worked for, a great deal of advantages:

• leveraging language and intercultural skills to quickly master specific common and civil law systems in the course of M&A due diligence
• entrepreneurially evaluating all financial and business risk factors with an investment, communicating succinctly to C-levels the overview of an opportunity under tight deadlines
• owning all labor law outcomes for a large corporation as the architect of internal employment policies
• negotiating intricate multi-party contracts and fees with several international stakeholders at issue, all while project-managing within a constrained budget
• portfolio risk analysis with individual investments including but not limited to FMCG, retail, construction, real estate, and oil & gas
• drafting the full gamut of legal documents, from cease-and-desist letters, trademark applications, shareholder agreements, and company registrations, to corporate by-laws, investor memos, and M&A resolutions whilst implementing internal compliance programs

My experience goes beyond the corporate space, where early in my career I was exposed to some of the most challenging humanitarian issues in international relations that allowed me to sharpen my people skills, organizational leadership, and active listening to solve problems creatively – qualities that pay dividends as part of a challenging role at an organization.
